RECTOMAX® Anorectal pressure probe

The RECTOMAX® anal probe is a probe consisting of a bidirectional Pebax body with two channels to which two latex balloons are attached. The first one (the larger one, for dilating the rectal ampulla) is connected to the blue tip. The second balloon (smaller, to be placed under the sphincter: internal anal sphincter SAI / external anal sphincter SAE) is connected to the red luer connector (measuring balloon).

Anorectal probe - indication:

• assessment of conscious rectal sensitivity
• assessment of the need threshold
• determination of the maximum tolerated rectal volume
• verification of internal inhibitory and narrowing reflexes
• checking the maximum voluntary contraction of the external anal sphincter
• check the abdominal-sphincteric dyssynergy
• re-education of perceptual thresholds
• re-education of urgency and defecation dissynergy

Recommendations:

• checking the integrity of the package before opening, then saving it for probe storage after each use. (Before use, check the uniformity of the balloons.)
• medical sheaths must be used to use the probe. (Do not twist the seal around the rectal balloon.)
• before insertion, the anal canal should be lubricated. The probe should be handled with disposable gloves.
• insertion should be continued so that the nearest circular marker on the small balloon is at the perianal border.
• use caution when inserting a catheter with a hypertonic sphincter.
• catheter use time should not exceed one hour continuously per session to maintain the flexibility of the balloons.
• do not inflate balloons before putting them on.
• do not inflate the rectal balloon above 350 ml of air.
• do not inflate the "measuring" balloon.
• before removing the probe, deflate the balloons and then remove the medical cover.
• do not sterilize.
• DO NOT use detergents or other latex-incompatible products.

ATTENTION! For hygiene reasons, a possible return of the product under the 14-day right of return will not be accepted if the probe is unpacked and the seal is removed from the packaging.
